Boardy Tweak Brings Clipboard Syncing Between iPhone and Windows PC

Boardy Tweak

One of the things that Windows users who also own an iPhone or iPad miss having is the clipboard syncing feature between Windows and iOS. On the Mac iOS users have enjoyed the Universal Clipboard feature for many years. This feature enables users to copy something on the iPhone and paste it on their Mac automatically, or vice versa.

The newly released Boardy tweak allows iPhone users to get the clipboard syncing feature on their Windows PC as well. When you have Boardy tweak installed on your iPhone you can seamlessly sync your clipboard with your PC.

You can copy text between the PC and iPhone. You can also copy an image from your iPhone to your Windows PC. Currently Boardy does not support copying images from PC to iPhone.

Installing the Boardy tweak on a jailbroken iPhone is part one of the installation process. In order to make Boardy’s clipboard syncing feature work users also need to install a custom made server on their PC, which they can find at the developer’s GitHub here.

While Boardy tweak works with Windows it is also supported on Linux and macOS. This is great for people who don’t want to use iCloud’s clipboard syncing feature or use different Apple accounts on their iPhone and Mac.

The developer has tested Boardy on following desktop operating systems.

  • Windows 10
  • macOS High Sierra to Big Sur
  • Linux (Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.10)
