Apple Announces iPad Air With New Design, A14 Bionic And More

Apple has announced the new and redesigned iPad Air at its Time Flies event. The new iPad Air features the same design and look as the iPad Pros, with edge-to-edge 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display. The new iPad Air is the first iOS device ever to feature the Touch ID sensor on the power button that is located on the top right corner of the screen.

iPad Air is equipped with the new A14 Bionic chip, making it the first iOS device to feature Apple’s latest chip. The new A14 Bionic chip uses the 5nm technology with 11.8 million Transistors, a 40 percent increase over A13 Bionic chip. The A14 Bionic chip features a 6-core chip that delivers 40% better performance compared to previous iPad Air. The chip has new 4-core design and delivers 40% faster graphics.

iPad Air just like the Pros is equipped with a USB-C port. Apple says the new port delivers 10x faster transfers than previous iPad AIr’s. Lightning port. This new port will deliver faster speeds when connecting the iPad Air with cameras, hard drives and external 4K monitors.

iPad Air has a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera. On the front it has the 12-megapixel camera. Other features of iPad Air include Landscape Stereo Speakers, Apple Pencil 2nd Generation Support, Magic Keyboard support, 20w USB-C charger, 10 hour battery life, Wi-Fi 6, 60 percent faster LTE, True Tone display, iPadOS 14 and more.

Apple has introduced iPad Air in new colors including Sky Blue, Green along with the usual Silver, Space Grey and Rose Gold.

iPad Air will start from $599 and will be available for order in October. This generation of iPad Air is $100 more expensive than the Air it is replacing. The $599 Wi-Fi model will have a 64GB  storage while the 256GB model will cost $749. The cellular iPad Air with 64GB storage costs $729 while the 256GB cellular iPad Air costs $879.

iPad 8th generation also announced

Today Apple has also announced the iPad 8th Generation. This new iPad comes with an A12 Bionic chip. It offers all the same features that were found in the previous generation including Apple Pencil 1st generation support, Smart Keyboard and more. It has the same starting price of $329.
